JustJuke -Footwork/Juke Music blog

 

Created in 2013, JustJuke.com is a blog for sharing a style of music called Footwork/Juke.

Footwork/Juke is a style of electronic dance music from Chicago. This style of music was popularized with 808 drums and fast moving dances called footwork to match the music style.

JustJuke.com was created using IFTTT automation to automatically detect and post new tracks tagged with Juke or Footwork on SoundCloud and share them using Tumblr, Twitter and Soundcloud.

Logo

I created the logo for JustJuke using Adobe Illustrator. The logo was created in a various number of colors so when you refresh the website, you will be presented with a different color logo.

The logo is used on the branding for the website which would include merchandise and any mixes released under the JustJuke name.

The logo includes text in both English and Japanese. In Japanese, the logo at the top of the lettering states “Footwork(Juke)”.

Weekly Mix Artwork 

Every week on JustJuke.com the most popular songs played on the site were re-posted to a playlist with that included a new background image but used the same consistent logo and rotating week number.

These weekly mix images were created every friday using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
